Ways to grow in your relationship with God

St. Thomas Aquinas tells us that avarice, one of the 7 deadly sins, is the "the immoderate or unreasonable desire for riches." How do we live virtuous and not fall prey to this sin? The antidote to avarice is generosity. God wants us to recognize our wealth as a gift, a gift that is for both for ourselves and the good of our neighbor. Start today living a generous life, let generosity flow from your heart.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

If Jesus Christ, who did nothing wrong, can forgive, then we as sinners can forgive. Today, think about someone you have struggled to forgive and offer forgiveness.
Matthew 18:21-22
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
